Expert Review

The ASUS PA278QV is a professional-grade monitor targeting creative professionals with factory-calibrated color accuracy at an accessible price. The 27-inch IPS panel delivers 2560x1440 resolution with exceptional color coverage of 100% sRGB and 100% Rec.709, ensuring accurate color representation for photo and video work. Factory calibration achieves Delta E < 2 color accuracy with included calibration report documenting performance. The 75Hz refresh rate provides slightly smoother motion than standard 60Hz, appreciated in everyday use. ProArt Preset modes optimize settings for different workflows including sRGB, Rec.709, and DICOM-SIM for medical imaging. Build quality is professional with robust fully-adjustable stand offering height, tilt, swivel, and pivot to portrait orientation. The slim bezels on three sides facilitate multi-monitor setups. Extensive connectivity includes HDMI, DisplayPort, DVI-D, and mini DisplayPort supporting various devices. The built-in USB hub provides convenient peripheral connectivity. Blue light filter and flicker-free technology reduce eye strain during extended work sessions. The matte anti-glare coating is effective without excessive graininess. Panel uniformity is excellent with minimal backlight bleed and IPS glow. The 5ms response time limits gaming performance but suffices for casual play. For photographers, videographers, and designers needing reliable color accuracy without reference monitor pricing, this monitor delivers exceptional value with professional features and ASUS reliability.
