Expert Review

The Gigabyte G27Q represents excellent value in the competitive 1440p gaming monitor segment. This 27-inch IPS panel delivers vibrant colors with wide viewing angles and covers 92% DCI-P3 color space, making it suitable for both gaming and content work. The 144Hz refresh rate feels noticeably smoother than 60Hz for gaming, with adaptive sync technology compatible with both FreeSync and G-Sync for tear-free gameplay. Response time is solid at 1ms MPRT with minimal ghosting when using the appropriate overdrive setting. The monitor includes thoughtful gaming features like Black Equalizer for better visibility in dark scenes, a crosshair overlay, and a dashboard for monitoring system stats. The OSD controls are intuitive and the included software allows adjustment via mouse and keyboard. Build quality is good for the price with sturdy construction, though the stand only offers tilt adjustment. The monitor includes multiple USB ports for peripheral connectivity and supports KVM functionality. Colors are accurate after calibration with minimal backlight bleed. Some minor IPS glow is visible in dark scenes when viewed at angles. Overall, this is a well-rounded monitor that doesn't excel in any one area but provides strong all-around performance at a competitive price.
